This report evaluates climate hazards in Uganda’s Kikuube District, where rising temperatures and unpredictable rainfall fuel severe seasonal droughts and localized flooding. These climate shocks threaten both host communities and the Kyangwali Refugee Settlement, with environmental degradation, high population density, and land pressure further amplifying local vulnerability.

Low-lying western areas like Kyangwali and Kabwoya face the highest risk, suffering from acute soil moisture deficits, crop failure, and flood-damaged infrastructure. To protect livelihoods and food security, the report stresses the critical need for climate-smart agriculture, improved water management, and risk-informed planning.
